Fred Ridley, Chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club in a press statement stated that the committee would share the details about the event in the coming weeks, months while focusing on implementing COVID 19 prevention guidelines to stop the spread of the pandemic. Also, Fred is optimistic that the rescheduling of the 2020 Masters Golf tournament in the fall will bring excitement to the Augusta community for all those who love the sport of golf.

However, Fred also stressed that the plan for organizing the Master’s Golf 2020 is still taking into account the advice and direction of health officials to ensure the pandemic prevention protocol is implemented. The organizing committee is well aware and cautious about the unprecedented challenges resulting from the COVID 19 pandemic all across the world. Thus the committee needs to remain in close contact with all the local, state, and national health authorities to help them implement the decisions of the Masters 2020 Golf committee.

Golfers and amateurs who had already qualified for the April tournament have been invited by Fred to attend the 2020 Masters Golf tournament next fall. At the same time, the committee also confirmed to cancel the Augusta 2020 National Women’s Amateur Championship (NCAA). The club is however facing rescheduling problems mainly for NCAA tournaments, World Amateur Team Championships, LPGA Q-series, and other tournaments. Every player will be invited by the committee who has received an invitation to the 2020 championship to compete in the Augusta 2021 National Women’s Amateur championship as long as the player remains Amateur.

Good news for those who have already bought the tournament tickets as the committee has decided to refund the ticket amount and also to buy tickets for the upcoming event. Fred expressed his gratitude for understanding their decision and also looking forward to making a strong comeback into the championship in full force for next spring.
